On behalf of the IVAO US Training Department,
Dear Member,
First of all, welcome to the US Division, and the US Training Department. We would like to take this opportunity to give you a brief introduction regarding training options and exam procedures.
The US Division has managed to build a strong training department within IVAO.
Our US-TC Mathias Meyer, and US-TAC Dieter DeCuba are both real life licensed pilots with different types of ratings from private all the way up to commercial. They are here to help you pass any of your exams, guide you thru the inner workings of IVAO, including basic familiarization with Pilot and ATC Client software, and preparation for Advanced Ratings like Controller 3 or Senior Flight Captain.
Our goal is to deliver, “Enjoyable, Quality, Consisted Training”. Don’t let the data overload discourage you from diving deeper into IVAO. We will do our best to make it Enjoyable, while helping you learn all there is to know about this great Virtual Aviation Environment.
Don’t hesitate to contact Mathias or Dieter, or any of our training advisors
Regards,
Mathias Meyer - US Training Coordinator (US-TC) VID 211977
us-tc@ivao.aero
Dieter DeCuba - US Training Assistant Coordinator (US-TAC) VID 230537

Important Rules and Guidelines before applying for an US exam!
After you applied for a practical exam, you have 30 days to complete the exam.
We ENCOURAGE you to request training or at least contact our US training department BEFORE you apply for an exam.
If you apply for an exam without training or contacting our TC/TAC, an exam will be executed without training.
Statistically, it has been proven that students receiving training, and/or preparation for an exam, have a greater chance in passing the exam the 1st time around. For this reason we strongly ENCOURAGE you, to contact us before you apply for a practical exam.
We kindly ask all members to use the Training MOTR system to request training. It is not required to pass a theoretical exam before you do so. We also offer help in preparing you for the theoretical test.
We know that your goal is to move quickly to the next rating. For this reason, we try to get you exam ready within 3 sessions.
The first training session will be a skills check (theoretical & practical). If we feel you have the knowledge to pass the exam, we will advice you to continue with the exam request.
If we think you need more training, we will schedule additional training sessions with you.
For further details, we strongly recommend you read all information and training documents on our Training Website. Also check out Training and Exam Rules within the IVAO US Training Department.
Some advise to pass a theoretical exam:
Please keep in mind; IVAO theoretical exams are currently based on ICAO knowledge. You can find useful documents on the IVAO Training Website.
We recommend you study the IPACK´s, and the Documents available on the IVAO Download page to pass such an exam.
All US practical exams include an oral theoretical portion before starting the practical portion of the exam. If you do not pass the oral portion, the exam will be marked Failed. The oral theoretical part focuses on FAA related Questions, and the practical portion will be done under FAA Rules and regulations.
Our goal is to prepare you for all of your exams, and get you moving to the next rating as quickly as possible. Mathais, our US-TC, is available for training on ICAO based theoretical exams and differences; he is an ICAO rated real pilot in Europe. Dieter, Our US-TAC is a FAA rated pilot in the US, and will be more than happy to help you with FAA procedures.
We hope this brief introduction helps you, and please, do not hesitate to contact us
